Disaster listening skills.

For the musician, like any other trade, in fact in all of existence man in general blindly sought themselves listening to egoic opinions of others eventually crafting their own 'self-embracement'. That's the world of the ego and as a musician it gets quite sticky at times. Busyness of schedule, high profile jobs & well crafted skills can trigger it all so naturally well. Myself, well, I have my share of hurdles to do with the wrongheadedness of ego based opinion, including in my work ethic regardless of whether I am aware of it or not. Its not in the hard yards we give our best on, not in the artistic excellence we achieve for ourselves, or the high praises we receive for our work from others that is the root cause of ego driven lives. Its basically to do with a common pursuit of acceptance from fellow man to validate our own self assurance. It also means thriving for nothing more than a false source of motivation for means like a higher salary, better job privileges & the like which automatically through every possible opportunity we have keeps us on our toes for every entitlement we feel is due us. Automatically, because we all work so hard & God owes us something. Automatically. It seldom happens that way hence the very core of this human rat race. You cannot change your surroundings without change starting within the individual & our homes. Families break due to over work commitments & relationships in general suffer through a lack in wisdom to balance our pursuit of happiness based on our very own self serving worlds. I am not immune to this dilemma of fallen priorities and self-centred agendas. Change is not going to come at all without pinpointing what triggers the egoic mind and how to silence its venom. Families and close tied relationships suffocate & burn due to a lack of respect of each other's limitations just because one believes the other is not heading ways towards their direction. The game is never really over until its side effects starts showing up. This is what I'd like to submerse myself on this year, a cry for change. Its been about in due time for me to see others how I see myself. Maybe, a new basis of foundation that is all things optimistic can occur and take place. Definitely.

What the technology surge means to the creative.

You've heard it before but it doesn't mean we all get the final picture. For the creative arts industry & record business, technology advancement has dictated our attitudes to our craft & what limits we put on our practice/s. For the artist, its been a great step up in terms of access to recording technologies not needing to much more than a soundcard & a computer. But, what it meant for the business is an out-pour of recorded works that diminished in demand strictly due to volume. Hence, the lack of what the current demand is also dictated the worth of even the best of artists in the recording industry that led to under-valued price tags just so streaming platforms can get their feed. That's ok with me for I have only really knew how to get by doing my own thing. But to the greats, its big business lost. & now, we all have grown to accept it. & it breaks 'fairness & due credit' where its due & really sad to have functioned on the dragon&

Assess your fears & redirect the course of your life.

The business of doing & simple daily practices that enhances productivity.

What's productivity? How do you define its measure? How do you view it based on your priorities? What decides where you put your focus, time & energies on? These questions are what we most often quietly ask ourselves in our subconscious though often times, due to debris, fail to hear our most distinct voices as we are choked by the things & concerns of this world. My field of interest (sometimes a little obsessive, which is ok), being the general creative industries, specifically in music, its very difficult to see things as they appear & personally, I pray everyday to gain clarity within it all as a daily creative. We are in the age of free media, & for the musician, that's generally not what we want. Its not reasonable to pursue the record industry due to exhausted business models caused by the internet. On the other hand, its the most important thing in my life, though however questionable. Not because there's no income from it, but just because of the bu
